Neil O'Connor, a friend of the cartoonist and a colleague at the Evening Herald writes: The Bob Fannin who worked as a cartoonist throughout the 1980s for the Evening Herald did not write plays nor short stories. Bob Fannin was a well-known yachtsman who lived in Howth, Co Dublin and was born well before the nineteen fifties. He died about 15 years ago. The author of the plays etc may be his son who was also a yachtsman for a time but never worked at the Evening Herald.
