Joe Campbell is the resident artist at the Greater Shantallow Community Arts Project, and the artist of the full colour graphic novel The Story of Amelia Earhart, written by Felicity McCall. It published by the Greater Shantallow Community Arts Project in 2007, the 75th anniversary of Earhart's unscheduled landing in Ballyarnett, on her pioneering flight from Newfoundland to Paris in 1932.
In 2011 he published a graphic novel, Columba's Cross, a fantasy story linking the Troubles with early Christian Ireland, alien invaders, and Amelia Earhart's fate.
Also in 2011, he created the First World War ghost story "Distant Fields" for the anthology Walled City Dreams, to which his son John Campbell was also a contributor, and drew "Last Call", written by Mike Lynch, in Zombies Hi issue 3.
In 2012 Uproar comics published the second edition of the Amelia Earhart Story and Accent UK published Have You Seen the Invisible Man written by Dave West with artwork by Joe Campbell. Joe has also been published in Megabook 2 Anthology.
