Best self-published Irish writer

Mike Lynch is a comics writer from Ennis, County Clare who contributed the one-page science fiction story An Rabhcán ("The Beacon"), drawn by John Cullen, to the promo issue of the Irish language comic Rí-Rá in 2008, and Dúréalta ("Black Star"), an Irish super-hero series, with the same artist, for the first issue proper in 2009. He has also contributed a story called "Ambassador to the Stars" drawn by Ed Traquino to issue 12 of FutureQuake, and a story to Issue 16 called "Mr Robinson" drawn by Paul McCallan.

Mike was nominated for an Eagle Award in 2010 for Favorite Newcomer Writer. In 2011 he wrote "Last Call", drawn by Joe Campbell, in Zombies Hi #3, and won the 2011 Irish Comic News award for Best Self-Published Irish Writer. Projects forthcoming for 2012 include First World War anthology Wire and Gas and horror series Nestor.
