1891-08-29 Fitzpatrick A Heartless Refusal

"A heartless refusal", 1891 cartoon from the National Press by Thomas Fitzpatrick.

The National Press was a short-lived anti-Parnellite nationalist newspaper published in Dublin from 1891 to 1892. It followed the Weekly Freeman and the United Ireland in publishing a colour political cartoon as a weekly supplement, drawn by Thomas Fitzpatrick. It merged into the Weekly Freeman in 1892, and Fitzpatrick became the Weekly Freeman and National Press's principal cartoonist.
