Small Axe was an anthology published in Belfast. It was edited by Gary McKeever and ran for five issues from April 2005. A pilot issue zero was published in 2004.
Small Axe was launched on Friday 29 April 2005, on the eve of the Belfast Comics Festival, supported by the UnLtd Millenium Awards Scheme. It was stocked in comics speciality stores and sold online. Small Axe carried the banner, "Belfast's Greatest Comics Magazine!" and stated its intention as a "non-profit making. All monies go back into sustaining the (Small Axe) Collective.". Oddly, editorial names and addresses were not included in the comic which made it difficult to source.
