The Nation was a nationalist weekly newspaper published in Dublin from 1842 to 1900, when it merged with the Irish Weekly Independent. In the 1880s-90s it ran cartoons by John Fergus O'Hea, J. D. Reigh and Thomas Fitzpatrick (as "Spot") .
